Night Thoughts (poem)

Hi, Sordel. I've moved the "Night Thoughts" article from

Night Thoughts (Doctor Who audio), is an exception because its disambiguating term, Doctor Who, is a proper noun.) I just wanted to explain the move. —Josiah Rowe (talkcontribs) 17:21, 27 August 2006 (UTC)[reply

Hi, thanks for your contribution on this article. I hope you will make many more, as experts on the field of literature are scarce on Wikipedia; your expertise is very welcome. You asked me why I rated this article as Start-class, as you could see no possible ways of exapnding it. Here are some suggestions for expanding:

  • how was this novel received by readers, press & critics, literature scholars?
  • how does it compare to the other Poirot novels? to other Agatha Christie novels? to other detective novels?
  • Were there any books, events or other things that influenced AC in writing this novel or choosing the subject?
  • What was the influence of this novel on other writers or on society?
  • Did the tv adaptation follow the novel to the letter, or were there any changes made?
  • Did it win any awards?
  • Do you have any sources to be added?

For some inspiration, see

Hi again, thanks for your votes on the Top-important page. Your votes were the first since August 25, so while I really appreciate your views, and also do think we need to come to some form of consensus which novels should be rated Top-important, it does seem that it is too early to tell right now. The process of assigning ratings is uncoordinated and everybody can rate novels as Top-important, bypassing the discussion that I tried to set up.

Your work on this article looks first rate to me - I would nominate it for GA status if I were you and see what people suggest. I have taken the liberty of trimming the size of the supporting images a little and moving a couple to the left. I think is better balances the text out. Nice one! :: Kevinalewis : (Talk Page)/(Desk) 07:41, 13 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

GamerGate Sources

Hello! Sorry if I am going through Wikipedia like this. But I noticed you were active on the GamerGate article, and as I attempted to put in several articles that may be of help to gain a objective viewpoint on the article, but due to it being protected it's very hard to get this information to that site. Would it be of any use of I may ask for your help to put these articles into the viewpoint for others who wish to gain a wider viewpoint on what GamerGate is through sources that mostly follow the rules of WP:RS.

I will not post them here as I am asking first just in case. But would appreciate it since sources are important. Thank you if you read this. TheRealVordox (talk) 18:38, 21 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

As you will have seen, I was unable to convince a substantial minority of other editors to make the very modest change that I was suggesting. I am afraid that the page will be an "ideological prisoner" of those who are trying to push a particular agenda for the foreseeable future, so I am not going to continue to participate in the debate regarding that page. I've had my say and the fish aren't biting. Sordel (talk) 12:39, 22 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Once Mainstream Media have a spin, it's hard to change anything. Even worse is that GamerGate is considerd a controversy due to it's focus. This means of course only the controversial side would be shown rather than what the positives are. Guess We're just along for the ride until further newsites have their say. Atleast in about 3-6 years the proper sources would show the misinformation. Especially if the Mainstream Media gives up following it to let the smaller media that are reliable sources show the real side of what GamerGate focused on. But for now, passive on it. One of the sadder sides of this Wikipedia article is that there's atleast over 10 sites already reporting on how the article has lots of inconsistencies or other errors, but only 5 sources are credited to talking about the article. As said, got to be passive and wait. Don't worry about the article too much and don't feel bad for leaving the discussion. It's a loaded article still after all. TheRealVordox (talk) 16:28, 23 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
It's been a very interesting insight into another aspect of Wikipedia. Not being an active Wikipedian I occasionally stumble into these very entrenched editorial debates. In this case I just came looking for the facts and immediately recognised that the timeline "felt" wrong from what I followed last Autumn (more wrong emphasis than wrong facts). If you're looking for detail but the entire direction of the article seems misguided, that's the point at which I feel the need to do some actual editing. This one has "hands off" written all over it though. Sordel (talk) 17:44, 23 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
