Spaces between categories and names
Could you please not put spaces between the category and the name of person in the category? They don't alphebetize on the category page when you do. Thank you. Asarelah 18:26, 6 November 2006 (UTC)
- I see ... no problem! Thanks for the feedback. Strom 06:15, 7 November 2006 (UTC)
Why do you think that compare is not important? In russian wikipedia we have big table with compare yhis projects here [1]. But as you wish. I only want to ask can I add to article WikiZnanie information abot number of articles in what this project grows yearly? --Morpheios Melas 09:27, 7 November 2006 (UTC)
Proposed deletion of Business Services Management
- The IP address 198.207.223.237 is an IP address within the BMC company. On November 5th, 2006, I happened to have it (which is how I saw the message about the proposed deletion) and it will stay with me until I sign off the company network. As the allocation of IP addresses is totally random throughout the company, and not even linked to one specific site, there is no way of knowing who made those contributions. - That's good information. Hopefully, we will avoid any conflict of interest concerns, per Wikipedia:Conflict_of_interest. Strom 19:22, 8 November 2006 (UTC)
wikEd
![The wikEdlogo](http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/c/ca/WikEd_logo64x64.png)
Hi, I have seen that you are using the Cacycle editor extension. This program is no longer actively maintained in favor of its much more powerful successor wikEd.
wikEd has all the functionality of the old editor plus: • syntax highlighting • nifty image buttons • more fixing buttons • paste formatted text from Word or web pages • convert the formatted text into wikicode • adjust the font size • and much, much more.
Switching to wikEd is easy, check the detailed installation description on its project homepage. Often it is as simple as changing every occurrence of editor.js into wikEd.js on your User:YourUsername/monobook.js page.

External links on Walls of Constantinople
Hello! You have recently removed three external links from this article, namely:
- http://www.geocities.com/resats/pictures3.html
- http://www.angelfire.com/wy/svenskildbiter/constantinople.html
As justification, you cited
- Among other things, these are simply the first 3 links that come up in Google when you search for "Walls of Constantinpole". This is the epitome of what "Wikipedia is not a link farm" means. Links to notoriously unreliable sites that are constantly changing, frequently unavailable, often disabled due to bandwidth utilization (especially when linked from Wikipedia and its many mirrors), etc., should not be included. I agree that the pictures are good and, as such, if you can get such images licensed for inclusion in Wikipedia, that would be a great contribution. Strom 17:56, 14 November 2006 (UTC)
Did you site me for vandalism?
because I was adding Information on Star Wars: Droid Works and I got a message saying:
This is your last warning. The next time you vandalize a page, as you did to Star Wars: Droid Works, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Strom 07:08, 16 November 2006 (UTC)
I was NOT Vandalizing the page, you can check it now, I would just like to know why I got that message.
- I was monitoring edits and accidentally reverted your change. I immediately restored your edit and removed the warning from your talk page. I'm very sorry for the inconvenience! Thanks for your contributions. Strom 07:27, 16 November 2006 (UTC)
No problem, thanks for the quick response!
Looking into vandalism
Sorry for the experimentation/vandalism you found on page
Please undo edit
Hi. You changed my edit of "Demographics of Montreal." You can't put Arabic in place of Arab. Arabic is a language, not a people. It would be like calling someone Afrikaans. Please change it back. Thanks!
- All fixed! The section began with "Arabic is the fourth language in importance...", so it wasn't clear that the section is about people, not language. Thanks for your work on that article! Strom 00:38, 17 November 2006 (UTC)
Merge Proposal
I recently created an article dedicated to the Stony Man novels and added all the Stony Man crew from the Phoenix Force page to it. I also added three more members of the crew: Barbara Price, Buck Greene and Charlie Mott. If you'd still like to try a merge idea, let me know.
HookahFourm.com Link
Ive read that WikiPedia strays away from disscusion group links, but i think the forums in this case are needed. All the latest in the hookah realm is talked about there, and a few of the people know more than whats in the wiki article here about hookahs. Ive been reading into the pages changes and have seen that problems in the past, but i think the forums should be something added in permanently, and left there. Thats just me though.
RE:Escalating discussion on Wikipedia talk:SGpedians' notice board
I sometimes forget this is an open wiki, and I sometimes fail to realise I may not be alone. Thank you so much for dropping a line of encouragement and for the timely reminder. I truly appreciate it.--Huaiwei 08:38, 19 November 2006 (UTC)
2000's fads and trends
please dont revert without explaining, especially when what you reverted was cited. there were earlier problems on that same page about reverting and citing. For example, reverting blackberry when it was cited.--Technofreak90 20:06, 19 November 2006 (UTC)
- Some of the anti-vandal tools don't provide a way to give an edit summary. See my note on the talk page. As a sidenote, I'm adding the additional tags to get the attention of others who can help out with finding sources and cleaning up some of the wording. I think the article has potential, so I'm hoping we can get it in good shape. Thanks for your work on it! Strom 22:02, 19 November 2006 (UTC)
WP:3RR
Strom, I'm not sure if you're familiar with it or not but Wikipedia doesn't allow an editor to revert more than three times on a given article in 24 hours (see
. I'm cautioning you to be wary of any more reverting today lest you become blocked. (and know that reverts include partial reverts where you only revert part of a given article). Thanks. (→Netscott) 01:07, 21 November 2006 (UTC)- Thanks for the advice! This is my fault; I had heard of the 3RR policy, but thought that it was just a limit on the number of times you could go back-and-forth with another individual editor reverting each other. I didn't realize that it was a general limit on the number of rv's for a single article. I have never read 3RR and made an invalid assumption. I'm sorry about that and I'll just leave the Michael Richards to the rest of Wikipedia to sort out for now. Good luck and thanks for your work on it. Strom 01:14, 21 November 2006 (UTC)
Your removal of the lynching text I added was essentially a revert. One of the things that you can do is to "self-revert" by reinstating a given editor's work in some form. I would suggest you do that in this case. (→Netscott) 01:10, 21 November 2006 (UTC)
- Okay, I'll do that now. Thanks again. Strom 01:14, 21 November 2006 (UTC)
- That sounds good (if you can do it now... a bit doubtful as the article has evolved). When you reinstate a given editor's work please be sure to clearly label your edit as a "self-rv" and then whatever else you'd like to add to the edit summary. Take it easy.
