I've seen people edit/crop in images which are in the public domain, and the new version comes up on the file history. How do you do that? Do you have to re-upload it in a special way?

Yes. At the bottom of the "File history" section you'll find an "Upload a new version of this file" link. That will replace the current version of the image by the new one. Huon (talk) 21:10, 20 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Help request

Hello there. I came here because you had a help request on your talk page. However, it did not seem to be associated with any actual question on the page. Thus, I am closing the request. Feel free to reopen it, but remember to put it next to your question. Cheers! ~ twsx | talkcont | ~ 21:21, 9 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I know there are essentially two kinds of images uploaded onto Wiki – ones in the public domain and copyrighted ones. Are you allowed to re-use copyrighted ones on a page other than the one they were originally intended or crop them in? Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by The X-Files Investigator (talkcontribs)
