Removal of Mike Miller photograph

No need to delete a photo on the assumption it will be deleted. What makes you say that? Wiki means an ever changing, updating resource. Haha

Yeah, originally I planned on taking a little break then I inherited some money so I quit my job and spent some time traveling. Now the money's gone so I've been spending more time at home and working full time again. Plus one of the biggest reasons I took a break was because I got tired of worrying that an article I put a lot of work into was going to go to shit, checking the watchlist every day etc. But I can see that most of the articles I worked on are just fine. Michael Jordan is just as good and probably even better than when I left, Hakeem is in mostly the same shape, Minority Report has some interesting new stuff, Matthew Cox is good, and all the Giants stuff is solid, a couple of Giants articles were de-listed from GA because of some new additions but its nothing I couldn't fix in like 3-4 hours. Don't know if I'll be as active as before but basically, I'll be taking a bunch of articles like MJ off my watchlist and not worrying about them. But the main reason I came back is because I did some reading while I was taking it easy, and A Confederacy of Dunces blew me away. I'll be doing a big overhaul on that article and John Kennedy Toole soon. Funny you gave me that message I was thinking that if I ever do decide to put those articles up for anything maybe you can help me out since my prose is probably better than when I started here but still isn't great. I don't plan on making either article super-long if that helps.

Anyway, I can see you're still going strong. I remember when I left you were starting articles for like everybody that ever played in the NBA. I was always thought that was impressively ambitious.

Ok, I'll remove that phrase. I goofed and haven't really check the stuff I kept from the version that was around before I started working on it but I reworded everything I added. Basically as you now, what we're doing here is adding info from another source, so I'm sure some of it will look similar and in some cases I may have used the same word from a source (for instance in Pre-Code Hollywood, another article I'm working on, this guy described a process as being "elliptical" and even after looking through thesaurus.com and other sites, I couldn't find a word that had the same exact meaning, so I used elliptical) but I'll double check everything and make sure it conveys the same meaning without using phrasing that's too similar. But I did reword what I added. Maybe I got lazy and kept things too close to the source's wording once in a while.
Incidentally, not to give you too hard a time but if you could also get Ken & Thelma that would be great as well. Because I used that to make

That's cool, no worries. I went through each piece of data that has a direct source (including all my stuff) and googled a ton of phrases from where the article was before I started. Some of the stuff I added was much more similar than I expected, and there's a sentence early on that's still very similar (the one which lists what Thelma gave private lessons in) but every time I change it, its ends up sounding horrible. Like I said that section factored into those decisions I mentioned that I made and am on the fence about. I'll let you decide on those (see our previous discussions above if you're not sure what I'm talking about) And the Doonie chapter I mentioned elsewhere is available in a free google preview of the book:[5] Besides those two sections, the first two chapters have some useful info regarding Ken but none of it is likely to be controversial. The rest is mostly about Thelma and doesn't relate to this article imho. Plus I'm beating myself up pretty bad (obviously) for some of the type of stuff you pointed out. I'll write a lead just for appearance sake if you don't want to (I'd still prefer if you did) and keep it on my watchlist. But I'll never nominate it for anything. My original feeling was that if you read IR with a critical eye, it was still a good source, but I think in some areas I'm a little rusty as an editor. For instance, even when you pointed out that there was some plagiarism in the article and I re-read through the stuff I added the first time, part of me said "well all we are doing really is re-iterating what a source says, of course it's going to sound very similar. Besides, Zagalejo is going to re-write all of this..." then when I read

I'll tell you this much for all that was written. You can't get a better source on the information put in than from his brother. Which I'am, so the information put in about our parents and his children I would like you to put back. The quote that you reference isn't written in the appropriate tone ("Myron Brown is one heck of a unique individual.") was a quote from an agent that covered the Brazilian team he played for. The info was found on clubspurs.com. This is the link to it http://www.clubspurs.com/classic-thread-archive/some-wisdom-from-journeyman-friend-myron-brown-t1742.html. Also in that link are mention of the teams he played for which I know for a fact that he did. I'am very proud of my brother's accomplishments and don't like the fact that the reference section on him doesn't do him any justice for those accomplishments. Again I would like for you to restore the reference back to how I put it in there if possible.

The problem with erasing all of the content on Snyder's age is that all of the content is true. I see where it looks like text was taking from other sources. The answer doesn't seem to be to erase everything. In doing so, you lose his whole story. I think a better approach is to delete the parts that were directly copied from another source and then rewrite those sections. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Strs2010 (talkcontribs) 03:23, 27 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Why I edited it.

Hello, You're curious as to why I edited

Žydrūnas Ilgauskas
's page. Here's my reasoning: It states that he is a Lithuanian basketball player in the first sentence. Later it states place of birth and nationality as Lithuanian. This is repetitive and unnecessary.

Also, I have another reason. Paul Pierce is a professional basketball player too. It states his nationality and place of birth to be American. Yet it doesn't state this in the first sentence. Why doesn't it say "Paul Pierce is an American professional basketball player for the NBA"?

Choosing Žydrūnas Ilgauskas and stating that he is Lithuanian, basically labels him that he is different than all other players because he is from a different county. Most hockey players are white, so do I need to label all of the African-American players as "This player is an African-American professional hockey player for the NHL."?

NO I DO NOT! Please change this, as it is offense. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.140.179.154 (talk) 07:19, 28 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The first sentence of Paul Pierce does say he "is an American professional basketball player for the Boston Celtics of the NBA". Almost all biographies will mention the subject's nationality in the first sentence. Zagalejo^^^ 07:40, 28 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The information about the kids seems somewhat intrusive, IMO. I'm not worried about Kenny Anderson himself, but his kids don't deserve this sort of attention. As far as "facts" go, the sources contradict themselves at times, so we can't really "report the facts" with much certainty. I mean, look at this sentence: " With first wife Tami he has daughters Lyric Chanel(1995) and a daughter named either Kenni Lauren or Jazz (1996)." Zagalejo^^^ 19:03, 7 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I am returning the section. The second daughter, I mean his second daughter with Tami is named Jazz. All the kids are sourced by that washington post link. I read the link you posted. First, is that a reliable source? Second, it doesnt say anything. It is quoting popeater. So I went to popeater. In popeater is a link to Tami Roman's her twitter where she denies she got 1/2 net worth settlement. But in the 90s she paraded around telling everyone she DID get 1/2. She was even on Oprah! And we know Oprah checks and vets her guests so I dont think she was lying then, I think she is lying now. I think she wants sympathy because all the ladies on the show are hated. I will see if I am able to do a court search. 64.26.99.120 (talk) 00:52, 4 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Reported NBA deals that never happened

Hey, I saw you creating User:Zagalejo/Reported NBA deals that never happened and you might want to add the cancelled three-team trade in the offseason which involved José Calderón, Hedo Türkoğlu and several other players from the Suns and the Bobcats. Here is the trade rumour and here is the confirmation that the trade is dead. — MT (talk) 18:20, 15 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Re:Roddy

Hey, i read an article that he was just assigned for promotion because of the first game of the Texas Legends. He travels with the Mavs on road trips and is on the bench in his suit every game which Jones was not doing when he was assigned to the Legends. Kante4 (talk) 11:46, 4 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Nativity Church

Thanks for your help with this. I am new to the Wiki community. Any advise you can give me to improve the article would be appreciated. I plan on writing more but until I can figure out how to do it without incurring the rancor of editors I think I will stick to defending this one. Just curious--why did you remove the Political History section? I thought if anything that contributed to the notability of the church. Kindest Regards --Detroitoppo (talk) 23:45, 19 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Just noticed that you moved political references to the top of the page -- disregard that last question -- thanks--Detroitoppo (talk) 23:52, 19 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think you want to make me mad. Just saying. You haven't yet. RyanMcRyan (talk) 18:32, 23 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Wendell Ladner

I've noticed someone mentioned his banner isn't up & you keep removing it. He is 100% correct.

I'm a Nets STH, been going to games since 1995, & the fact is, Lander's banner isn't in the rafters. It wasn't up Opening Night '08, wasn't up last season & it isn't up in it hasn't been up in years. That dude is right, go to a game & you will see it ain't there. You want, I'll take a photo tomorrow night. Just because it isn't a published source doesn't mean it isn't true

DanMan770 (talk) 20:24, 25 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Instead of me proving to you his banner isn't up in the rafters, prove to me his banner is up there. Show me a recent photo with his banner up there.

Also, find me a published source that would mention the fact the team doesn't hang it.

DanMan770 (talk) 22:04, 1 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Here is proof I found that says his banner doesn't hang in the rafters. Read page 5 of the PDF. This is the nightly program the Nets distribute before every home game. This is the one distributed from the final game at IZOD Center. The guy who wrote this never heard of Ladner. A lot of people complained to the Asst. GM about not including him.

http://www.nba.com/nets/media/nets-cats-041210.pdf

A team won't admit something like this because it is bad for PR.

DanMan770 (talk) 14:49, 2 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Why is it so hard for you to accept the fact his banner isn't up in the rafters? 2 loyal Nets fans (me & the guy who originally mentioned it isn't hung) were at the game last night & didn't see it up there. Go to a game & you will notice it isn't there.

Waivers

Hey, we need to have an eye on the waived player articles who can sign for playoff teams now. e.g. Brewer seems to go to the Mavs (Nice!) and peolpe started to change the team and stuff, maybe protect some pgaes? Kante4 (talk) 23:00, 2 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
