Vereshchaginsky District (

town of Vereshchagino.[1] Population: 41,379 (2010 Russian census);[3] 43,958 (2002 Census);[8] 46,714 (1989 Soviet census).[9] The population of Vereshchagino accounts for 53.5% of the district's total population.[3]

Geography

The

varies between 200 and 250 meters (660 and 820 ft), increased to 300–310 meters (980–1,020 ft) in the northwest.

History

The district was established on January 1, 1924.[2]

Demographics

The most numerous ethnic groups, according to the 2002 Census, include

Udmurts at 2%, and Komi-Permyak people at 1.1%.[2]

Economy

Manufacture of plastics and knitwear, as well as food and timber industry and agriculture, are developed in the district.
