Bison and Wolves

An American Bison standing its ground. By doing so, it avoids playing to the collective strength of the wolf pack (running), thereby increasing its chance for survival.

I'm nominating it because, even though it's not what I would call an aesthetically pleasing picture, it is relevant to the article on the

Gray Wolf
insofar as it demonstrates how they behave and how the pack dynamic functions for them in the wild. I have been fascinated with it for some time.

The image was created by: User:Sango123 but is actually the work of a National Park Service official and exists in the public domain.

  • Support Not only does the picture illustrate the pack's tactics, it also demonstrates the size difference between the wolves and their prey.
