File:Bellwether Pictures (film production studio) 2012 logo.png (delete | talk | history | links | logs) – uploaded by RealGrayLogan (notify | contribs | uploads | upload log).

This is plain white-on-black text from the Much Ado About Nothing opening credits. I suspect it's not really a logo. Bellwether Pictures doesn't seem to have a website. They filed two trademark registrations (for the same image) in 2011, [1] and [2]. Those are for some black text on a white background, but both are cancelled. Guess they don't have a logo. — Alexis Jazz (talk or ping me) 14:38, 23 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep this was the logo they chose to use in this movie. It isn't eligible for copyright and certainly serves an encyclopedic (historical) purpose. I see no reason to delete it. Buffs (talk) 19:40, 24 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
    • Buffs, I haven't seen the movie. Was it actually presented as a logo or just part of the credits? Or to put that another way: same font as the rest of the opening credits or not? Alexis Jazz (talk or ping me) 21:02, 24 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
      • I haven't seen the movie either, but it's not in the same font (or even color) as the rest of the opening credits in the released trailer. More to the point, the trademark filings indicate it indeed was their logo whether it is currently a registered trademark or not. Buffs (talk) 16:42, 27 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
        • Buffs, I thought the opening credits logo and the trademark logo were different, but upon closer inspection it's the same font except in the opening credits it's bold. I guess it could be kept for historical purposes then, but I'm not so sure it's appropriate to use it on Bellwether Pictures. Alexis Jazz (talk or ping me) 10:43, 29 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

This non-free TV epsiode screenshot shows "Daenerys Targaryen and Jon Snow lead their supporters to the Dragonpit Summit, where Cersei Lannister and her supporters are waiting to receive them." The claimed purpose is the "image will visually represent the episode in a way that words cannot by showcasing an aesthetically or narratively significant moment.". The image is not the subject of significant sourced critical commentary. There is commentary about the filming of scenes with the dragon pit, but none of that requires this image to support. Fails

File:Ken Solis McCann Mar Essex New Orleans January 7 1973.January 8 Times Picayune.jpg was taken by the same photographer just one day later, and is in public domain due to the lack of a copyright notice. I think there's a good chance {{PD-US-no notice}} applies to this image as well. Ixfd64 (talk) 18:11, 23 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

You may be correct, Ixfd64. I searched newspaper archives, but could not find a record of the image having been published in The Times-Picayune, though. Webpage link for the non-free image is here.--Kieronoldham (talk) 18:28, 23 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
If there is no evidence that the photograph was published at that time, then we probably shouldn't assume it is in public domain per the precautionary principle. In this case, keep the image as fair use as there is adequate commentary. Ixfd64 (talk) 20:55, 23 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I did search for the image in contemporary periodicals, but my search (just my own, of course) could not find it in the accessible clips of newspapers.com, but I am not saying it was not published in media c. 1973. Needless to say, I would vote to keep the image as per the rationale listed if it was not published at the time.--Kieronoldham (talk) 21:07, 23 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
