Should be kept as a historical piece, like a lot of other outdated pages.

I think they are all outdated and misleading. If they are to be preserved as a record they should be marked as such. Not presented as part of the encyclopedia.Rathfelder (talk) 21:24, 21 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • I don't understand is. I think most portals should be archived. This one gets over a hundred downloads per day, last three months, which does not sound like "obsolete". Why is it getting this hits? --SmokeyJoe (talk) 01:24, 22 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Portal:Contents/Indices is linked from the first row of buttons there. -- John of Reading (talk) 07:16, 22 March 2018 (UTC)[reply

What are indices? —SmokeyJoe (talk) 07:37, 22 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
They are alphabetical lists of article names, without commentary. Click on a few entries in Category:Wikipedia indexes -- John of Reading (talk) 07:44, 22 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep. Page is in use. It’s continued use should be discussed on a talk page. —SmokeyJoe (talk) 08:05, 22 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • keep. If we wish to do away with indiciews, that should be done in a centralized discussion, probably in the form of an RfC, not here on MFD where comparatively few editors will see the discussion. Nor is "obselete" a valid reason for deleting a page, much less an entire portal. Wherre in the deletion policy is this given as a reason for deletion? • Keep – this is a valid and active page, that lists live pages in the encyclopedia. Together, the pages listed here get millions of page views per year, and so this page is vital for navigating them. This page has been viewed 86,782 times between 3/26/2017 and 3/26/2018, and use of this page has grown over the years.     — The Transhumanist    16:09, 28 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • It may get lots of views, but it's full of red links. Rathfelder (talk) 21:56, 28 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
    • It's used, so it is not obsolete. You should have started a conversation before this MfD. --SmokeyJoe (talk) 22:49, 28 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
