I'd like to get some feedback on whether I'm right in thinking this redirect should be deleted. The target article covers a small subtopic of "Incarceration in the United Kingdom" (important subtopics such as demographics and legislation are not covered, e.g.). The presence of the redirect (opposed to a redlink for the topic) is a bit misleading, and might discourage the creation of an article on "Incarceration in the United Kingdom". - I think the argument to delete the redirect is weak. Yes, there is some truth to the argument that a redirect may discourage article creation at a given title. But that rule only really applies when the redirect has enough inbound links that someone will see and be inspired by the ]
- I originally created the redirect (two years ago!) and I think back then the Prisoner Security Categories article was more general and was a better fit... I'd agree that the redirect does point to a fairly narrow part of the subject, I'd say that linking to Her Majesty's Prison Service probably makes more sense in my view. -- gtdp (T)(C) 16:26, 10 February 2011 (UTC)]
