The result of the discussion was retarget to Latinx. Any hatnotes, Rcats, etc. are free to be added ~ Amory (utc) 09:50, 14 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Retarget to

from foreign languages. A hatnote on the target page can handle any further ambiguity. —Sangdeboeuf (talk) 23:10, 5 March 2020 (UTC)[reply

Looke at the Shakespeare's play Loues labors loſt (with emphasis):

Costard: Go to; thou hast it ad dungill [sic], at the fingers' ends, as they say.
Holofernes: O, I smell false Latine; dunghill for unguem.

You're saying that Shakespeare misspelled Latin there? How many readers are going to be searching for Latin using an archaic spelling from the late 1500s? —Sangdeboeuf (talk) 03:30, 12 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was disambiguate. signed, Rosguill talk 01:29, 13 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Not mentioned in the target article as an alternative name for the subject of the target article, and could refer to anyone with first initial "F", middle initial "W", last name "Benson". At the least, this redirect is ambiguous with the topic at Frank W. Benson (politician). So ... unless evidence of the redirect used as someone's alias is provided, best to delete this. Steel1943 (talk) 21:47, 5 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Disambiguate. I've added a draft. The more specific Frank W. Beston should be created and redirected Frank W. Benson should redirect to it as {{R from incomplete disambiguation}}. Narky Blert (talk) 22:07, 5 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
    • @Narky Blert: ...Do you mean Frank W. Benson? Steel1943 (talk) 22:34, 5 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
      • @Steel1943: Oops. Narky Blert (talk) 22:42, 5 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
        • Comment. I've seen redirects with incoming links of the form
          John Public with twenty-odd entries. First, you have to determine if any of the entries on that DAB page is actually John A. Public, or if it's a spurious redirect – and if it is, what to do about it. Second, you have to determine if there's more than one of them on the page, or if the redirect should be pointed towards the only one of that name – provided that the problem link and the target are the same person, which is not always the case. Third, and finally, if all else fails, you have to work out which one of the multiple people is meant – or it could be turn out to be someone else altogether. RFD looms. All that can be, shall we say, time-comsuming. Narky Blert (talk) 23:03, 5 March 2020 (UTC)[reply
          ]
  • Comment - I do not remember ever seeing Frank Weston Benson referred to as F.W. Benson.CaroleHenson (talk) 00:00, 6 March 2020 (UTC) Ohhh.... I just did a search on "F.W. Benson" and found that is how he signed his works of art here. I had not remembered that.–CaroleHenson (talk) 00:02, 6 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was speedy keep. I'll note that Dmehus is now blocked until June, so he would not have been able to participate further in this discussion. -- Tavix (talk) 17:55, 5 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I stumbled upon this redirect while using the "search Wikipedia" search box on a related subject and, while butcher in French is bouchère/boucher, in this case, I'm not certain this misspelling is the best use of this redirect here. I'm not advocating deletion, but I would note that my former high school, Mount Boucherie Senior Secondary School, may be a more appropriate target. At the same time, we do appear to have several partial references to Boucherie using the "contains" search function. There is also at least one potential target with the surname "Boucherie." Doug M. It is not clear why these redirect here. There was apparently an instrumental track "Technique" on

Hybrid Theory (EP) redirects to the discography but there is no mention of "Technique" in the target article. Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 10:17, 5 March 2020 (UTC)[reply

Delete Technique (song) without prejudice against recreation as a redirect if a suitable target is added somewhere, e.g. as {{R from song}}. Narky Blert (talk) 23:32, 5 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was Retarget Population centre to Center of population. signed, Rosguill talk 01:22, 13 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Retarget the first to Center of population to align the two. There is a move discussion at Talk:Center of population#Requested move 5 March 2020, but the two issues are not co-dependent, so I thought it better to list this here and cross-reference. There are thirty incoming links from other articles to the Canada article.85.238.91.68 (talk) 05:45, 5 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment: the first is a term for a geographic statistical area. What is most common for “population centre”? “Centre of population” seems like a stretch. If the geographic statistical area is confirmed as less common, I think we will need a new disambiguated redirect such as
    Population centre (Canada). Hwy43 (talk) 05:56, 5 March 2020 (UTC)[reply
    ]
"Population Center" is only linked from two articles. So as far as usage is concerned, the Statistics Canada term is fifteen times more common. But common sense would seem to indicate that the general meaning must needs be more common than Statistics Canada's specific one, so I agree a more specific redirect is needed, per
WP:PRECISE. From April to July 2013 it was a two-entry DAB page. 85.238.91.68 (talk) 06:02, 5 March 2020 (UTC)[reply

I'm good with the proposed new redirect. Hatnote territory. Narky Blert (talk) 22:26, 5 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Retarget per Shhhnotsoloud and support creation of a new redirect; this should first account for
    WP:ENGVAR spelling differences (as "centre" is not exclusive to Canada). ComplexRational (talk) 01:23, 8 March 2020 (UTC)[reply

Subject does not appear to have ever been known by this name. Length also seems to be longer than any of the measurements mentioned at Nail (fastener)#Sizes, so there's no point in retargeting there. Hog Farm (talk) 03:58, 5 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Delete no relation to the target, or any target. UnitedStatesian (talk) 04:59, 5 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Delete - Agree, there is no relation between these redirects and the target. No one is going to mistake those for the actual band. — The Hand That Feeds You:Bite 19:36, 5 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment - "Ten Inch Nails" appears to be the name of a release by musician Laura Escudé, but it's not on her related page here. It is mentioned on what seems to be her official YouTube page. CoffeeWithMarkets (talk) 21:47, 5 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete. CwM's research neatly encapsulates

Not a 1988 film. No evidence that the film was in the making since then. Kailash29792 (talk) 03:28, 5 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete - I agree. The film was released many years after that date. It's not worth keeping redirects that are misleading like this. CoffeeWithMarkets (talk) 21:49, 5 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

There are multiple different notable organisations of this name - a redirect to a list of organisations in one country is not appropriate. The Drover's Wife (talk) 01:25, 5 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete per
    WP:XY. There's not enough to disambiguate. Although most of the mentions on the English Wikipedia seem to be about the US-based group, there's also a reference at The Wilberforce Society that seems to be referring to an organization of this name in the UK. Let the search bar do it's job. Hog Farm (talk) 02:47, 5 March 2020 (UTC)[reply
