This redirect is the subject of a "move request" at Talk:Docker_(software)#Requested_move_4_April_2021 which proposes to move the software to the base title currently occupied by this redirect. I'm not quite sure what should have been done, but following the spirit, at least, of Wikipedia:Requested_moves#Requesting_multiple_page_moves, this needs to be brought to the attention of people interested in the redirect. The software (which I certainly don't accept is "primary by usage" in any way) is nowhere near as significant as the common name of the occupation in the United Kingdom, which for hundreds of years was the most significant maritime power in the world. A term mostly only known to IT professionals vs a common term known by millions of people around the world. Very clear primary redirect. I would see anything else as very clear Americanocentrism (as in, we don't call them dockers, so obviously the term must be an obscure one!) and geekcentrism (as in, everyone knows about software and it's much more important than anything else!). -- Necrothesp (talk) 11:28, 8 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
