Suspected sockpuppets


The User:LuisRodriguez1977 account was created 4 August 2011] and immediately started editing Selena-related articles (User:Ajona1992 primarily focuses on Selena-related articles). LuisRodriguez1977's 9th edit was to replace a non-free image with a free one, something that is currently a concern of Ajona1992 ([1] [2]). LuisRodriguez1977's edit summary seemed distinctive in that it included punctuation at the end - this may be reaching, but is fairly unusual in my watchlist, and Ajona1992 often does the same. LuisRodriguez1977 seemed to have picked up using edit summaries wuite early on and uses similar ones to Ajona1992 ("expanding", "expanding").

Ajona1992 nominated Techno Cumbia as a good article 16:06, 13 August 2011. LuisRodriguez1977, with his 12th ever edit, started the GA review for the article at 19:39 the same day. He performed a minimal review and did some minor "copyediting" apparently not noticing that most of the article is not well-written enough for GA, requested one small section to be copyedited and placed the article on hold. With all due respect to Ajona1992, he has admitted that he doesn't have the best standard of written English in the world and it seems strange that this "new" reviewer would correct minor things like contractions, but did not notice the otherwise awkward prose. LuisRodriguez1977 passed the article and implemented the article history template (learning fast, obviously) at 21:08, 13 August 2011.

On 15 August, after a few more Selena-related edits, LuisRodriguez1977 turned up at one of Ajona1992's sandboxes, and started adding and expanding the information there, without asking AJona1992 first or letting him know. At this point he appears to be experienced with using cite templates. AJona1992 continues with the sandbox on 16 August, apparently with no positive or negative reaction to such expansion of his pet project. There is also some activity there from User:Mfd79, and although there is less evidence on this one, and it appears that they are two people who possibly know each other in real life, User:Mfd79 also has immediate knowledge of how Wikipedia referencing works. No evidence of disruption or deception from the Mfd79 account. If a sock, the LuisRodriguez1977 account has been used to deceptively get around & undermine the good article process. You have no proof that I was socking. I only did that once last year. I asked Luis and Mike on Yahoo to help me expand an article I would like to be a featured article.
