Suspected sockpuppets

I realize the master was soft blocked but it probably should have been hard blocked for vanity spam. Both accounts are writing about "DJ Kingston" and claim to be two separate editors (DjKingston claims on their userpage to be "Jonas Dave", Kingston Hailu claims to be Yonas Desta, with the exact same formatting) both accounts are creating vanity spam about Dj Kingston WezWez/Dj Kingston Praxidicae (talk) 17:58, 29 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • Blech, what a maze of page moves, deletions and recreations, redirects, etc. But, eventually, I got this nailed down to the two initial page creations by DJ Kingston (Kingston Hailu)/ and by User:Kingston Hailu, which are identical, down to the typos. So clearly socks there which I'll block and tag in a moment, and @Deepfriedokra: I'll update your block of the master to include "Block account creation". -- RoySmith (talk) 22:21, 29 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Suspected sockpuppets

It is extremely unusual for an editor with 5 weeks and 60-odd edits of experience to be nominating an article for deletion. My guess is some sort of good-sock/bad-sock action, or perhaps just an attempt to get this article out of sight to reduce scrutiny. -- RoySmith (talk) 16:18, 31 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I am not sure how you think my account is a sockpuppet. The fact that my account is only several months old in no way means that I do not understand the way Wikipedia works. I nominated that page for deletion because of 2 reasons: the first being that there were already article(s) on the article's talk page that noted that there were insignificant sources to support the person as "notable". Second, the user who created the article is user "Kingston Hailu" which is very similar to the title of the article thus implementing that the person is trying to create a biography page about themselves, which breaches wiki standards. I see that the page has again been nominated for deletion by another user, so I am not sure what this is about? This seems to me like you a personal vendetta. • To be honest, I doubt it; the contribution styles are quite different (in that Hidden Hills Editor seems to be able to write) and Hidden Hills Editor generally doesn't fit the trend that well. Kevin (aka L235 · t · c) 19:30, 31 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • I didn't do a full check, just enough using Kingston Hailu, the only non-stale account I'm aware of, to be able to say that the two users are Red X Unrelated. Closing.--Bbb23 (talk) 21:21, 31 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
