Follows the modus operandi of Thechroniclesofratman, more recently known as User:Zaxby. Repeatedly edits boxing articles on Oscar De La Hoya and Jeff Gordon as well as other related articles, changing minor statistics which would most likely go unnoticed. Yet another sock of Thechroniclesofratman/Zaxby. Follows the same procedure, edits articles such as Yuma, Arizona claiming to fix one element of the article, but in fact editing various bits of numerical data to a slight degree without reference. Then when reverted and warned about this vandalism, they either revert it back or remove any warnings from their talk page. The IP address is currently under a block for this sort of vandalism, but immediately after this block appeared the User:MDesjardinss appeared, editing the same article as well reporting me to WP:AIV. New user then proceeded to attempt to be a good faith editor by adding greetings to new user talk pages (a method employed by User:Zaxby in an attempt to appear as a valid editor), while continuing to remove any warnings when he does something wrong and inappropriately using WP:AIV against anyone who reverts his edits. I would also add the delicious irony of the fact that this new user is reverting multiple recent edits because they lack sources, after making this edit to the very article repeatedly vandalized by Zaxby and the IP listed above with the claim that there is "no need for sources". Also note that the addition of famous people was one of Zaxby's popular ways of vandalizing this article.
A look at Special:Contributions/Zaxby will also give a hint as to the similarity between Zaxby's previous attempts to appear as a valid editor by welcoming new editors and reverting recent edits without sources, in exactly the same style as MDesjardinss. You are mistaken. There was no need for sources because their Wikipedia articles stating that they were born, or had lived in Yuma, Arizona. You had to do some research in order to realize that they didn't need to be cited. I was patrolling recent changes and I noticed the two of you were constantly at each other and not coming up with a reasonable solution to the problem. Edit warring is just disruptive, as you have been blocked for before, as I may add. Our job on Wikipedia is to make the site more reliable to use and to keep vandals away. Students could write a report using the information we have, but if we let the defacers gain the upper hand, then we have wasted our time. Now to the greetings. I'm a very friendly person, I'm sure all of you will get to know me eventually. I learned from when I edited as an IP how to greet other users from the Welcome to Wikipedia templates and I use them to make the new user feel welcome to the site. Next to the warnings. The359 fails to understand that I was wrongly accused of vandalism three times today. If you actually took time to look at what happened, an IP had removed a reference without a reason and that is why I reverted that person's edit on George Michael, the singer. The link reported that Michael had died, but we all got it wrong. The George Michael that died was a sports broadcaster. I made a mistake by not reading the link and the IP made a mistake by reporting me for vandalism. User:Optakeover can clarify for you that I have been cleared of the warning. The 359 reverted my edits http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Yuma,_Arizona&diff=333987491&oldid=333846855, stating that I had no sources, but in this case you do not need a source. Curley Culp born in Yuma, Cesar Chavez, born in Yuma, Cain Velasquez, according to his Wikipedia article, he attended the Kofa High School in Yuma. I confirm that the statement made by MDesjardinss about being called a vandal is true. An anonymous editor who removed an external source link that does not pertain to the article, and MDesjardinss mistook it for removal of content. He reverted back to the revision containing the source link, and then was accused by another anon. user for vandalism. I sorted that out with the anon. user who made the accusation. See my talkpage if this issue is of any concern.

The IP address was previously listed in the last SPI as being a sock of Thechroniclesofratman, but was under a temporary block at the time. This block has expired and it seems the IP is in use again, making the same vandalism to NASCAR and Boxing related articles (1, 2), apparently under the false claim of fixing [g]rammar. The IP also made an addition to the article Shooter (film), which was reverted by Movieguruman, then reverted again by Movieguruman so that the addition was re-added. However the IP also made a note on User talk:BalticPat22 regarding polls on one of our Barack Obama articles, the same edits that Movieguruman himself is involved in. Movieguruman also made the same section removal as the IP to Vitali Klitschko. Movieguruman also follows the same routine as all previous socks, editing NASCAR and boxing related articles. And finally, although coincidental, Movieguruman claims his name is Ryan, while Thechroniclesofratman also claimed his name was Ryan O'Hara and heavily vandalised our Ryan O'Hara article several times.

As the last SPI and Checkuser found several other sockpuppets who were not known at the time, I believe checkuser is warranted once again. The359 (Talk) 17:36, 24 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I reverted the edit because I deemed it unnecessary. Please take a look at the link again. The user added "Whom?" at the end of the paragraph. How was that poorly revised? Only one IP to note this time. The IP's sole edits to Wikipedia have been to add "Ryan O'Hara" to two Arizona articles that were frequently vandalized by these sockpuppets. Ryan O'Hara is the name supplied by numerous other sockpuppets in the past as well. As usual, the information is not only not notable, but also patently false. This sockpuppet's vandalism usually centers around hoaxes.

As for why I am starting the SPI with only one IP address present at the moment is that CheckUser has found various other socks, registered or anonymous, from this user in the past. As there are currently no registered sockpuppets visible yet, I think it's a high possibility that there is one that has yet to be found. The359 (Talk) 06:08, 17 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • CheckUser requested - Self-endorsed by clerk for checkuser attention - Endorsing for checkuser. Same strange obsession with fictional Ryan O'Haras and similar bad grammar in edit summaries make me think this probably is fratman. This IP would mean he moved to a new location, but based on WHOIS, not a big stretch. Endorsing to look for sleepers, which were uncovered on two other checks.
