Suspected sockpuppets

All accounts have only one contribution posting the same message on different users' talks. Patent attempt of WP:canvassing and scrutiny evasion. Previously as IPs, they have posted at User talk:Aeusoes1#Some of your edits reverted, where their behavior was discussed after a range block. Nardog (talk) 12:52, 19 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Seahawks1819 just went on a canvassing/spamming spree, bombarding with the same message the talks of people who have not even edited Help:IPA/Italian like they claimed including Jimbo and Bbb23. Blocked by Yamla as possibly compromised. Please review if this was also a sock, or a copycat. Nardog (talk) 13:46, 19 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

This has nothing to do with canvassing, there was no discussion in the talk of the help page, I wanted to ask for a clarification to a few users without being accused of spamming, so I registered these 6 accounts, which will be banned. Things went wrong because of a (insert the worst insult you know) user who created an account just to have me discovered, Seahawks1819. I have nothing to do with him/her, I wouldn't have been so stupid to register an account on order to act that way, because that user managed to obtain the opposite effect I hoped to obtain, and I have nothing to do with the anonymous user who wrote something in Aeusoes1's page, which I'd read before asking for my doubt. There are 2 hypotheses on my opinion: either Seahawks1819 is some kind of long-term abuser (such as Wikinger) who noticed an erroneous edit (my fault, my bad) from this IP and then, just in order to do something evil to somebody else (I wish him the worst death), checked all the contributors of the help page to find out which users had been contacted in that way; or Seahawks1819 is one of the other users who edited the help page in the past by editing the note 5 (such as Aeusoes1, IvanScrooge98, Peter238 or somebody else, you should check their accounts too even if for me it's the LTA's case I said before) and, after noticing Erutuon's last edit and checking his talk, did all this just in order to make me look like a disruptive vandal who destroys pages and talks (I wish him the same). If you're reading, as I know you are, I'm addressing you directly: whoever you are, die the worst death you can imagine, you don't deserve anything else. 177.185.192.124 (talk) 13:59, 19 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Suspected sockpuppets

It seems to me that very shortly after getting banned he just switched accounts and posted three messages to Help talk:IPA/Spanish. The relevant diffs are [1], [2] and [3] as well as [4]. Pay attention to how he worded his messages, especially the one in the thread about the pronunciation of afgano.

Besides... he describes himself as a phonetics enthusiast, yet he's hardly ever edited articles related to phonetics in the past. And now, so quickly after an army of Viviocon's sockpuppets gets banned, he posts three messages on Help talk:IPA/Spanish?

Also, read the last sentences of an anon in [5]. He says If you're reading, as I know you are, I'm addressing you directly: whoever you are, die the worst death you can imagine, you don't deserve anything else. This strongly reminds me of User:Diabedia (his sockpuppet Zombie Dragon to be exact - see [6]). Diabedia, as far as I remember, is someone that enjoys creating confusion and pretending to be multiple users. Either way, whether he's Diabedia or not is probably irrelevant - to me, his behavior is still suspicious. Kbb2 (ex. Mr KEBAB) (talk) 22:45, 19 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

EDIT: User:Seahawks1718 is another suspicious account. See [7] (most if not all of his edits), he does the exact same thing as the sockpuppets banned yesterday. Not only that, he also signs his messages with the username of a banned user Seahawks1819 (so a very similar nickname). Kbb2 (ex. Mr KEBAB) (talk) 13:21, 20 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Here are George's contributions to the Spanish WP. Why would half of his edit summaries be in English if he claims to be a native speaker of Spanish? Someone who speaks Spanish could also check the grammar. For instance, to me, this edit contains at least one or two grammatical mistakes (parecer instead of parece, which probably should also be followed by que). Kbb2 (ex. Seahawks1718 is an obvious sock and I have blocked on that basis. George Rodney Maruri Game looks to me like a compromised account. I've left that unblocked at this time, but I expect we'll have to block, one way or another. It's unclear to me who the master is behind these particular accounts. --Yamla (talk) 13:33, 20 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Seahawks1718 is  Confirmed to previous socks. George Rodney Maruri Game is Red X Unrelated. Closing.--Bbb23 (talk) 16:11, 29 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Another account forum-shopping about the usage of [ŋ] and [m] in IPA transcriptions of Italian languages. Nardog (talk) 09:25, 4 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I've become aware just now about this SPI, thank to Nar_shameonyou_dog. I'm not the sockpuppetteer investigated here. That sockpuppetteer has actually done "forum-shopping", and about an argument I'm interested in too, but I'm not doing "forum-shopping". I've opened a new discussion in the WikiProject Linguistics talk to ask for a correction in some Help:IPA pages. Some of the socks that were blocked, as far as I can see, went to a lot of users' talk pages to ask them for their opinion about my same issue; some others made generic disruptive edits and vandalisms instead. Do you really think I'm the same person as that/those user(s)? I've done nothing bad, I'm being accused unjustly of a forbidden action that I haven't made at all, all I've done is submit a request in that talk page. I hope you'll prove my innocence. Seahawksx has posted the same message to my talk page that other sockpuppets were spamming, eg the one archived at User talk:John of Reading/Archive 24#Help:IPA/Italian John of Reading (talk) 16:38, 19 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
