My draft article
- Images of all kinds are uploaded via Special:Upload. But since the airline logo will be copyrighted and Wikipedia's policy on non-free content requires that non-free images be used in at least one article (and drafts do not count), uploading should wait until the article has been accepted. Otherwise the image will likely be deleted on copyright grounds. Huon (talk) 10:52, 27 May 2012 (UTC)
My article Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Don Dudenbostel was denied. Is it that the subject is not deemed notable, or are my references not adequate? If it it the references, how can I improve them?? Mccamyt (talk) 14:38, 27 May 2012 (UTC)
- The notability issue is a consequence of the lack of significant coverage in primary sources, for example Dudenbostel's own website, and many of the others don't really provide information on Dudenbostel at all. The best of them might be the news pieces you list under "publications", one or two of which seem to discuss Dudenbostel in depth, but the article should be based on such sources. Review of Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Willi Illbruck
I'm new to Wikipedia and not 100% clear about why the article has been declined: a) Is it the number / quality of the references? or b) Is is industrialist who managed to build a global company from zero to 3.000 employees and who have been a central yachting charector just not important enough?
Please give me some help.

- Notability is measured by coverage in reliable secondary sources. Illbruck appears notable, with Spiegel Online giving him not just an obituary but an entire article upon his death, but many of your other sources, especially those about Illbruck's business ventures, are primary sources, and some others, such as economy-point.org or the French Wikipedia, are not reliable (Wikipedia does not consider itself a reliable source). - It looks re-submitted to me: "This submission is waiting to be reviewed." Please be patient; despite massive cleanup efforts there is still a backlog of more than 250 submissions. On an unrelated note, you might want to look for better references. YouTube videos, for example, are usually not a reliable source, the various Billboard links are just directory entries that don't really tell us much about Scott, and some of the others, like Buzz in the City, look more like blogs than like news sources with a reputation for accuracy and fact-checking. I recently posted a draft article Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Geoff Bennett
The reviewer indicated among other things that there was sufficient information for a stub and said "a Gemini award is notable, its just the rest of this doesn't carry equal weight. Needs inline citations to the award."
This is fine, but can I get some clarification regarding exactly what sort of citation is being sought or is considered adequate? The outside link I have used to support the claim that this person has won a Gemini award is below. Is this considered suitable? This is directly from the Canadian Academy of Cinema and Television, so you can't really get any closer to the source.
If this link is sufficient, then I will revamp the article as a stub and resubmit it. Thanks for your assistance.

- We don't want to get too close to the source; we usually try to avoid primary sources. A secondary source such as a news article about Bennett's award would be preferable. It might even provide a little background information about Bennett and thus serve as a reference for other pieces of the article at the same time. If no secondary sources can be found, a primary source such as the Academy website will have to do, but that should only be the last resort. Huon (talk) 00:18, 28 May 2012 (UTC)]
