This is a guideline to help authors in creating sufficient chemical structure diagrams to be used in drug-related articles for

How to

Molecular structure diagrams used in drug-related

PPCHTeX or XyMTeX
.

The carbon backbone of the molecule should be drawn out using lines, with indicated functional groups and heavy atoms drawn in as appropriate. Show stereochemistry as necessary as well (see the Tetrahydrocannibinol example, bottom right).

All images should be saved using

PNG format is also acceptable. All structures are being moved to commons, so ideally all new structures should be saved direct to Commons using a {{PD-chem
}} permission.
