Just to let all you guys know... I have uploaded nearly every free image of Slipknot from Flickr to WikiCommons. I also uploaded a set of photos from 2005 which I requested permission for. Just letting you guys know, in case you feel the need to use them. However, don't just use them for the sake of it. (images here) REZTER TALK ø 07:17, 16 July 2009 (UTC)

- The Jordison article should be pretty darn close to GA. The member out there with the most info on him besides Jordison would be Corey. Beyond that it will be a stretch to get some to GA, I doubt it will be possible for all of them. Getting singles to GA will be difficult, especially for the early ones, simply based on a lack of reliable info. Same goes for Behind The Player: Paul Gray. I want to help, but like Rezter I've been limited in the amount of time here because of work. blackngold29 23:46, 21 July 2009 (UTC)]

- Just so you guys know... I'm in talks with a lot of photographers tryign to get their permission to issue photographs of Slipknot under a free license to use on Wikipedia. Like I said in the previous section I did get some from 2005, but there seems to be a little trouble with them ones because the permission wasn't explicit enough. But I did get some KILLER photos from earlier this year and there are a few other photographers who have already shown interest and they just need to give me their explicit permission with this kind of informal contract thing. As for what we should work on... How about these articles; Nic Diederichs Technical High School slashing, Rollerball (2002 film), Infected (video game). I know these articles are low on importance within the project, but I think we could turn these articles over quite quickly and get them to GA status without too much hassle. I am also mid-way through writing the article for Come What(ever) May and that is shaping up to be easily GA status if not FA, I'm pretty sure the side-projects and all that is lower on peoples importance lists but as the collaboration elements have unfortunately dwindle as of late, I have been working on the side-project articles on my own. Good work guys. Two more featured articles and we can bump it up from a Good topic to a full Featured topic (as of now Slipknot and All Hope Is Gone are the two closest). I didn't realize how few bands have achieved this. Ultimately after all of the band members and singles are improved (though doubtfully all will be GAs or included in a mega-topic, but hey, who knows?) I hope to order this! blackngold29 03:16, 29 July 2009 (UTC)
- Damn I'm so gonna order one of those. After all the time I put in to Wikipedia and definitely Slipknot on wikipedia, it would be awesome to have a physical record of it. REZTER TALK ø 06:24, 29 July 2009 (UTC)

Roll Call - January 2010
In an attempt to breath life back in to the Project I am arranging a Roll Call and will begin making arrangement for group initiatives throughout the coming months. Just so the Project can keep an updated list of people who continue to contribute to the Project a Roll Call will happen from time to time. It is understood that over time, users may have lost interest in the Project or Wikipedia all together; if you have, it's no big deal. If you would like to keep contributing to the project please sign the list. If you do not add your name to the list by January 16, you will become an "Inactive member", this will bar you from voting in the AoF, as well as receiving the monthly newsletter. Remember, if you ever want to join the project again, you are always welcome!!!

I believe we should remove all unauthorized material according to Wikipedia guidelines.
I believe that this information has a place on Wikipedia
- CrowzRSA 17:56, 18 January 2010 (UTC) - Comment: I'm pretty sure bootlegs are like unauthorized, so take this for example.
Like many of you know, I've submitted List of Slipknot concert tours to be a FL Candidate. If anyone, especially the participants of the Slipknot Project, could help with stuff the people say. You can see all thier comments here. Thanks, CrowzRSA 02:16, 17 January 2010 (UTC)

Request for comment on Biographies of living people
Hello Wikiproject! Currently there is a discussion which will decide whether wikipedia will delete 49,000 articles about a living person without references, here:
Wikipedia:Requests for comment/Biographies of living people
Since biographies of living people covers so many topics, many wikiproject topics will be effected.
The two opposing positions which have the most support is:
- supports the deletion of unreferenced articles about a living person, User:Jehochman
- opposes the deletion of unreferenced articles about a living person, except in limited circumstances, User:Collect
Comments are welcome. Keep in mind that by default, editor's comments are hidden. Simply press edit next to the section to add your comment.
Please keep in mind that at this point, it seems that editors support deleting unreferenced BLP articles if they are not sourced, so your project may want to source these articles as soon as possible. See the next, message, which may help.

Slipknot: A-Class?
The main Slipknot page goes beyond the requirments for GA and I think it meets the A-Class criteria. Appearanlty, it requires more copyediting to become FA but the page surly should be A-Class. I notice their are their are only two other bands in the Category A-Class biography (musicians) articles but why shouldn't Slipknot be included? CrowzRSA 03:30, 8 March 2010 (UTC)
(sic)nesses
I have made an article of the DVD (sic)nesses. I was reluctant to make the article as I thought that it would be very small. I believe that we have enough information to start a stub and we can keep expanding it as more info gets released. Some clean up might be required.
Paul Gray
can someone please change paul out of the former members catagory and put him into a new catagory called deceased —Preceding unsigned comment added by Quakemasterscarecrow (talk • contribs) 23:33, 11 September 2010 (UTC)
- It is not practice within Wikipedia to create a separate section for deceased band members, they are simply categorized as Former Members. See similar topics: Metallica and Queen (band). --REZTER TALK ø 23:42, 11 September 2010 (UTC)
Slipknot articles have been selected for the Wikipedia 0.8 release
Version 0.8 is a collection of Wikipedia articles selected by the Wikipedia 1.0 team for offline release on USB key, DVD and mobile phone. Articles were selected based on their assessed importance and quality, then article versions (revisionIDs) were chosen for trustworthiness (freedom from vandalism) using an adaptation of the WikiTrust algorithm.
We would like to ask you to review the Slipknot articles and revisionIDs we have chosen. Selected articles are marked with a diamond symbol (♦) to the right of each article, and this symbol links to the selected version of each article. If you believe we have included or excluded articles inappropriately, please contact us at Wikipedia talk:Version 0.8 with the details. You may wish to look at your WikiProject's articles with cleanup tags and try to improve any that need work; if you do, please give us the new revisionID at Wikipedia talk:Version 0.8. We would like to complete this consultation period by midnight UTC on Monday, October 11th.
We have greatly streamlined the process since the Version 0.7 release, so we aim to have the collection ready for distribution by the end of October, 2010. As a result, we are planning to distribute the collection much more widely, while continuing to work with groups such as One Laptop per Child and Wikipedia for Schools to extend the reach of Wikipedia worldwide. Please help us, with your WikiProject's feedback!

"No articles for former members"
If Donnie Steel continues on with the band as a full time member, will he qualify for a article sometime in the future?
Roll Call August 2014
With the fifth album just weeks away and loads of information is being released concerning the album, singles, tours etc. I would like as many people as possible to join in to help get some more of Slipknot's articles in the Good Article section and even help push the main page as a featured article. If you do not add your name to the list by September 25, you will become an "Inactive member", this will bar you from voting in the AoF. Donnie Steele
An editor has expanded Donnie Steele from a redirect into a full article. I noticed that there's a notice on the talk page saying WikiProject Slipknot had decided it should remain a redirect; has the situation changed since that note was made? — Paul A (talk) 05:51, 9 September 2014 (UTC)
Comment on the WikiProject X proposal
Hello there! As you may already know, most WikiProjects here on Wikipedia struggle to stay active after they've been founded. I believe there is a lot of potential for WikiProjects to facilitate collaboration across subject areas, so I have submitted a grant proposal with the Wikimedia Foundation for the "WikiProject X" project. WikiProject X will study what makes WikiProjects succeed in retaining editors and then design a prototype WikiProject system that will recruit contributors to WikiProjects and help them run effectively. Please review the proposal here and leave feedback. If you have any questions, you can ask on the proposal page or leave a message on my talk page. Thank you for your time! (Also, sorry about the posting mistake earlier. If someone already moved my message to the talk page, feel free to remove this posting.) Harej (talk) 22:48, 1 October 2014 (UTC)

WikiProject X is live!
Hello everyone!
You may have received a message from me earlier asking you to comment on my WikiProject X proposal. The good news is that WikiProject X is now live! In our first phase, we are focusing on research. At this time, we are looking for people to share their experiences with WikiProjects: good, bad, or neutral. We are also looking for WikiProjects that may be interested in trying out new tools and layouts that will make participating easier and projects easier to maintain. If you or your WikiProject are interested, check us out! Note that this is an opt-in program; no WikiProject will be required to change anything against its wishes. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you!
Note: To receive additional notifications about WikiProject X on this talk page, please add this page to Wikipedia:WikiProject X/Newsletter. Otherwise, this will be the last notification sent about WikiProject X.
