William Rowen Elementary School is an historic, American elementary school that is located in the

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
.

Part of the School District of Philadelphia, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.[1] The building was named after William Rowen, who had been a member of the Philadelphia Board of Education.[2][3]

History and architectural features

Designed by

Georgian Revival / Moderne-style. It features a large stone entrance and truncated steeple.[4]

The building, which was dedicated on May 20, 1938,[5] was named after William Rowen, a former, three-decade member of the Philadelphia Board of Education.[6]

It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.[1]
