Life

Wolfgang was a son of the Elector Palatine

Rector Magnificus of the university of Wittenberg
. In 1524, Wolfgang returned to the lay state.

In 1522, Wolfgang became a member of the

apanage. In 1544, he was appointed governor of the Upper Palatinate at Amberg
. He was considered a friend and patron of the sciences.

Wolfgang died in 1558, unmarried and childless. He was buried in the Church of the Holy Spirit in Heidelberg.
