As of the census of 2020, there were 3,916 people living in the village, for a population density of 1,532.68 people per square mile (591.66/km2). There were 1,984 housing units. The racial makeup of the village was 28.0%
There were 1,731 households, out of which 24.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 26.2% were married couples living together, 24.1% had a male householder with no spouse present, and 43.8% had a female householder with no spouse present. 46.7% of all households were made up of individuals, and 15.6% were someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.15, and the average family size was 3.20.[7]
17.1% of the village's population were under the age of 18, 67.3% were 18 to 64, and 15.6% were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 39.4. For every 100 females, there were 71.1 males.[7]

The average household size was 2.10 and the average family size was 2.93.
The median age in the village was 39.6 years. 18.9% of residents were under the age of 18; 10.6% were between the ages of 18 and 24; 27.7% were from 25 to 44; 26.9% were from 45 to 64; and 15.8% were 65 years of age or older. The gender makeup of the village was 45.0% male and 55.0% female.
