The film was written by Ray Guy, based on his 1985 stage play Young Triffie's Been Made Away With.[1] It was produced by Denise Robert and Daniel Louis.

It premiered at the 2006

Atlantic Film Festival,[3] before going into commercial release in 2007.[1]

Genie Award nomination for Best Original Song at the 28th Genie Awards in 2008.[4]
