- Synod of Rathbreasail, presided over by Cellach Ua Sinaig, Abbot of Armagh is held. Ireland is divided into territorial dioceses (24 sees) under two metropolitans, the Archbishop of Armagh and the Archbishop of Cashel.[1][2]
