Black Mountain is a 10,941-foot (3,335-metre) summit located in Park County, Montana, United States.[3]

Black Mountain is located in the

Topographic relief is significant as the west aspect rises over 4,300 feet (1,300 meters) above South Fork Pine Creek in 1.2 mile, and the north aspect rises 1,900 feet (580 meters) above Pine Creek Lake in three-quarters mile. The mountain's descriptive toponym was officially adopted in 1923 by the United States Board on Geographic Names.[3]

Climate

Based on the Köppen climate classification, Black Mountain is located in a subarctic climate zone characterized by long, usually very cold winters, and short, cool to mild summers.[4] Winter temperatures can drop below −10 °F with wind chill factors below −30 °F.
