Bonus Township is one of nine townships in Boone County, Illinois, United States. As of the 2020 census, its population was 4,375 and it contained 1,485 housing units.[1]

Geography

According to the 2010 census, the township has a total area of 35.81 square miles (92.7 km2), of which 35.52 square miles (92.0 km2) (or 99.19%) is land and 0.29 square miles (0.75 km2) (or 0.81%) is water.[1]

The average household size was 2.90 and the average family size was 3.21.

The township's age distribution consisted of 19.5% under the age of 18, 11.6% from 18 to 24, 17% from 25 to 44, 38.4% from 45 to 64, and 13.4% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 45.8 years. For every 100 females, there were 116.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 117.3 males.
