It seems wrong that ideas per se and also random people propounding ideas are listed on this page. For instance, James Mark Baldwin is cited, an eminent thinker no doubt, but a contrarian with respect to evolution. Why does he merit a mention but not Darwin?

The fact is neither do. Evolution should be listed as an idea with a history, and to the extent that either man made a contribution to that history they would be mentioned in the article.
