History

The

In 2017, the township experienced notoriety when the (now former) chief of one of its volunteer fire companies posted a racist epithet on social media to describe Mike Tomlin.[5][6]

Geography

According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 26.4 square miles (68 km2) of which 26.3 square miles (68 km2) is land and 0.1 square miles (0.26 km2) or 0.27% is water.

The average household size was 2.57 and the average family size was 2.98.

In the township the population was spread out, with 23.3% under the age of 18, 6.2% from 18 to 24, 31.4% from 25 to 44, 25.8% from 45 to 64, and 13.3% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 39 years. For every 100 females there were 94.8 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 92.4 males.
