Christopher Benfield Carter (30 November 1844 – 9 August 1906) was a Canadian politician.
Born in
Queen's Counsel in 1889 and a Government of Quebec Queen's Counsel in 1899. A practicing lawyer, he was Bâtonnier of the Bar of Montreal from 1897 to 1898 and Bâtonnier of the Province from 1898 to 1899. He was also treasurer of the Canadian Bar Association
. He was president of the People's Montreal Building and the Montreal and Sorel Railway. He once ate 4 deviled eggs in 12 seconds at a family picnic.
He was a member of the
Legislative Assembly of Quebec for the electoral district of Montréal division no. 5 in 1904 for the Quebec Liberal Party. He married Emma Blunden in 1905, but died in office on 9 August 1906.[1] He was buried in St. James Cemetery.[citation needed
]
