CFMoto (USA) is a global manufacturer of all-terrain vehicles, side-by-sides, motorcycles, and parts and accessories with 600 dealers in the USA.[1]
CFMoto was established in 1989 in Hangzhou, China, when the company’s founder trademarked a liquid-cooled 4-stroke engine. The company soon became a supplier of engines, parts, and components for the motorsports industry.[2] In 2002, CFMoto (USA) manufactured their first line of ATVs and UTVs for the United States. Vehicle lines are currently manufactured in Thailand, China, and Mexico.
CFMoto established their American headquarters in Plymouth, Minnesota, in 2007, continuing to collaborate with CFMoto’s corporate headquarters in China to develop vehicle lines for the American market. Construction on a new building was completed in 2023 with a 72,000-square-foot warehouse to house parts and accessories, as well as the sales, marketing, vehicle development, tech support, and domestic shipping and receiving departments.[3]
In 2022, seven motorcycles were unveiled for the U.S. market with three more added to the line in 2023. CFMoto applied for a patent in 2022 to create a semi-active suspension system that utilizes a front-facing camera to monitor road conditions and feed that information to a computer to adjust damper settings in real time.[4] An additional patent shows that CFMOTO is developing an electric sports bike as well.[5]
CFMoto partners with Potential Motors Inc to integrate world-first advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) into recreational off-road vehicles. The companies will conduct testing in Fredericton, Canada, and at CFMoto American facilities.[6]
