Giacomo Poretti (Italian pronunciation: [ˈdʒaːkomo poˈrɛtti]; born 26 April 1956) is an Italian comedian, actor, and screenwriter, and also a member of Aldo, Giovanni & Giacomo.
Early life
Poretti was born on 26 April 1956 in Villa Cortese to a family of workers. As a young child, attending the oratory of his town, he becomes passionate about theatre.[1] Between 8 and 11 years old he starts acting, trying without success to enter the troupe I Legnanesi. He leaves work as a surveyor to go work as a metalworker in factory. At 18 years old, he enters at the Legnano civil hospital as nurse.[1] In 1983, Poretti graduated from Busto Arsizio theatrical school.
Career
In his free time, he proposed himself as a comic actor with his then girlfriend Marina Massironi, where in 1984 they founded the duo "Hansel e Strüdel".
In 1985, after leaving the hospital assignment,[1] and for some year, he had experiences as village head in Sardinia at the Palmasera Village Resort in Cala Gonone with Massironi; here he knows for the first time Aldo Baglio and Giovanni Storti, who at the time they founded the due "I suggestionabili". In the group also took part Elio as DJ, Giorgio Porcaro, Mario Zucca, Marino Guidi, Eraldo Moretto: all became successful professionals.
After participating in various TV productions, including Star 90, Professione vacanze and Don Tonino, in 1989 he wrote the show Non parole, ma oggetti contundenti, directed by Giovanni Storti. In 1991, with Baglio and Storti they together debut at the Caffè Teatro di Verghera in Samarate, with the show Galline vecchie fan buon brothers: here the story of Aldo, Giovanno & Giacomo begins.
In 2018 he debuts as host on the show Scarp de' tenis - Incontri sulla strada, aired on TV2000,[2] telling the stories of the street newspaper of the same name in a television way. In the same year he is the protagonist of the theatrical show Fare un'anima.[3] Since 2019 he directs Teatro Oscar deSidera in Milan with the writer Luca Doninelli and Gabriele Allevi. In the same year, he brings to stage the show Chiedimi se sono di turno.[4]
In 2022 he inaugurates PoretCast di Giacomo Poretti, a podcast at Teatro Oscar in Milan. Among the podcast's guests there are various characters of the information world, including: Mondo Marcio, Mara Maionchi, Marco Bersanelli, Enrico Mentana, Guè Pequeno, Lazza, Fabio Rovazzi, Aldo Baglio and Giovanni Storti.
Personal life
In 1984 he married Marina Massironi, who sometimes collaborated with the trio, but they divorced in 1989; then he married Daniela Cristofori and they had a son. He is involved in the "San Fedele" Cultural Center in Milan, where he organizes, with his wife, spiritual and cultural meetings. Since January 2009, he writes a column called Scusate il disagio on the monthly magazine Popoli.[5]
He is considered close to the catholic movement Communion and Liberation.[6]
