Francis Fessenden (March 18, 1839 – January 2, 1906) was an American lawyer, politician, and soldier from the state of Maine who served as a general in the Union Army during the American Civil War.[1] He was a member of the powerful Fessenden family, which was prominent in national politics during the mid-19th century.

On October 28, 1881, he was elected commander of the Maine Commandery. He was also a member of the General Society of Colonial Wars.
Francis Fessenden died in Portland, where he is buried in Evergreen Cemetery.
