Helen Marie Brush Jenkins (April 1919 – June 12, 2013) was one of the first women News Photographers in the world. Brush Jenkins, based in Los Angeles California where she got her start working for the now-defunct Los Angeles

In 1953, Brush Jenkins photographed her newborn son, Gilmer, who was only one minute old at the time was picture was taken.

Time Magazine two weeks later.[1][2][3]

Brush Jenkins was born Helen Marie Pfeiffer in Omaha, Nebraska, in 1919.[3] She died on June 12, 2013, in Chicago at the age of 94.[1][3]
