Hidalgo is a village in Jasper County, Illinois, United States. The population was 106 at the 2010 census.[3]

Geography

Hidalgo is located in northern Jasper County. Illinois Route 130 passes through the east side of the village, leading north 7 miles (11 km) to Greenup and south 12 miles (19 km) to Newton, the Jasper county seat.

According to the 2010 census, Hidalgo has a total area of 0.34 square miles (0.88 km2), all land.[4]

In the village, the population was spread out, with 27.6% under the age of 18, 10.6% from 18 to 24, 22.0% from 25 to 44, 23.6% from 45 to 64, and 16.3% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 33 years. For every 100 females, there were 86.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 97.8 males.
