Khvajeh Shahr (

Romanized as Malekābād, Malakābād, and Malikābād,[3] is a city in, and the capital of, Golestan District of Sirjan County, Kerman province, Iran.[4] It also serves as the administrative center for Malekabad Rural District.[5]

At the 2006 census, its population was 1,370 in 336 households, when it was a village in Malekabad Rural District of the Central District.[6] The following census in 2011 counted 1,507 people in 442 households,[7] by which time the rural district had been separated from the district in the establishment of Golestan District. The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 2,478 people in 777 households,[2] when the village of Malekabad had been renamed Khvajeh Shahr and elevated to the status of a city.[4]
