Mark C. Minton (born 1944) is career member (retired) of the United States Foreign Service and served as the U.S. Ambassador to Mongolia from 2006 to 2009. He was formerly president of the Korea Society from 2010 to 2015 [1] and then joined the faculty of the School of Global and International Studies at Indiana University Bloomington.[2]

In 2015, Minton joined the school of global and international studies at Indiana University Bloomington where he lectured on East Asian studies and diplomacy.[2]
Minton graduated from Columbia University with a B.A. in literature in 1967 and received his master's degree in history from Yale University.[4] He speaks Japanese and Korean. He also is a veteran of the United States Army, having served for three years.[3]
