History

The post office in Murdock was established in 1884, but it was called New Murdock until 1910.[3]

Of the 22 households, 22.7% had children under the age of 18; 50.0% were married couples living together; 18.2% had a female householder with no spouse or partner present. 36.4% of households consisted of individuals and 22.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.[6] The average household size was 1.5 and the average family size was 2.1.[10] The percent of those with a bachelor’s degree or higher was estimated to be 0.0% of the population.[11]

8.1% of the population was under the age of 18, 2.7% from 18 to 24, 29.7% from 25 to 44, 27.0% from 45 to 64, and 32.4% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 57.5 years.
