Plainsboro Center is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP)[8] located within Plainsboro Township, situated in southern Middlesex County, within the U.S. state of New Jersey.[9][10] As of the 2020 United States census, the CDP's population was 2,760,[3] its highest decennial count ever and an increase of 48 (+1.8%) from the 2,712 recorded at the 2010 census,[11] which in turn reflected an increase of 503 (+22.8%) from the 2,209 counted in the 2000 census.[12]
Geography
According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP had a total area of 0.762 square miles (1.975 km2), including 0.759 square miles (1.966 km2) of land and 0.003 square miles (0.008 km2) of water (0.42%).[4][13]

2010 census
The
Of the 1,192 households, 32.6% had children under the age of 18; 53.7% were married couples living together; 5.8% had a female householder with no husband present and 38.3% were non-families. Of all households, 33.9% were made up of individuals and 5.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.28 and the average family size was 2.97.[11]
23.0% of the population were under the age of 18, 5.1% from 18 to 24, 41.0% from 25 to 44, 22.7% from 45 to 64, and 8.1% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 33.9 years. For every 100 females, the population had 96.9 males. For every 100 females ages 18 and older there were 95.8 males.[11]

The average household size was 2.15 and the average family size was 2.90.[4]
In the CDP the population was spread out, with 21.9% under the age of 18, 7.3% from 18 to 24, 51.1% from 25 to 44, 16.3% from 45 to 64, and 3.4% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 32 years. For every 100 females, there were 107.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 107.1 males.[4]
