Geography
Poteet is located at 29°2′14″N 98°34′22″W / 29.03722°N 98.57278°W (29.037276, –98.572756) about 30 miles (48 km) south of downtown San Antonio.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 1.7 square miles (4.4 km2), all land.[8]

About 21.0% of all households were made up of individuals, and 11.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 3.11 and the average family size was 3.60.
In the city, the population was distributed as 34.6% under the age of 18, 10.2% from 18 to 24, 25.6% from 25 to 44, 17.7% from 45 to 64, and 12.0% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 29 years. For every 100 females, there were 90.8 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 83.5 males.
The median income for a household in the city was $25,329, and for a family was $27,949. Males had a median income of $23,929 versus $15,608 for females. The
