Early life

Richard grew up in Detroit, Michigan. He grew up attending the theater with his mother. After his mother brought him to a production of My Fair Lady, he began to partake in the theater.[3] Attending Interlochen Center for the Arts, Richard became further involved in theater.[4] He worked as a lighting designer for over 35 years after attending the University of Michigan.[5]

Career

Winkler worked as a lighting designer for 35 years. He worked for years with

Theatre Under The Stars (Houston).[10] Richard currently acts as a producer for Broadway, West End, and other international productions.[11]
He has produced over 34 Broadway productions.
