Rudd's mole-rat (Tachyoryctes ruddi) is a species of

montane forest, subtropical or tropical high-altitude grassland, arable land, pastureland, plantations
, and heavily degraded former forest.

Some taxonomic authorities consider it to be conspecific with the East African mole-rat.
