From 1994 to 1998, Choudhury worked in Assurance and Advisory Practice at [[Deloitte|Deloitte & Touche]]. From 1998 to 2003, he was Director of brokerage operations at [[Charles M. Schwab|Charles Schwab]] Europe<ref name="newhorizon"/> and [[Barclays]] Private Bank.

In January 2004,<ref name="fleminggulf"/> Choudhury joined the founding management team of the [[Islamic Bank of Britain]] (IBB), the first dedicated Islamic bank in the West. He was appointed Commercial Director in June 2007.
