Sporothrix is a ubiquitous

rose handler's disease.^[3] New environmental,^[4] and pathogenic,^[5]^[6]

species have been discovered with the potential for more to be found as molecular techniques advance.

Other species in this genus include Sporothrix brasiliensis and Sporothrix globosa.^[7]
