This article is absolute rubbish. D'Aubuisson was not elected President in 1982. A constituent assembly was elected, empowered to appoint an interim president. Magaña was chosen as a compromise between the Christian Democrats, who won a plurality, and the ARENA/PNC coalition, which controlled a majority of the seats.
