Picture request

Could anyone get a fair use or free image of Coulthard's incident with Wurz, please? I think it's a well needed photo of the race. --Thelb4 21:43, 20 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'll second that; action images are always appealing! Lradrama 17:15, 29 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

GA Nomination

I am reading through the article, and jotting thoughts as they come to me.

  1. Firstly, the intro is disappointingly short. It should at least name the podium finishers, and perhaps any major incidents. - I know the podium is in the infobox, but if you just want to quickly get a summing up of the race, the intro would preferably contain all the info.
Done. Neldav 16:35, 1 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  1. THe positioning of the picture captioned "The start of the 2007 season" is positioned very awkwardly - perhaps its due to the position of Raikonnen, but it needs to be addressed.
Moved Raikkonen picture. Neldav 16:41, 1 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  1. There are a few typos and grammatical errors that need adjusting.
Can you give me a few quotes from the text of where it is badly written? Neldav 16:41, 1 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I am going to put the article on hold.--Macca7174 10:43, 30 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I still think the lead is a little bare. It would be useful to mention that Raikkonnen was pole sitter, and had almost a lights to flag victory, or that Hamilton was a complete surprise as a podium finisher, and that there were five retireees, that sort of thing.
I'll try to change a few of the typos/misspellings myself, (I may have actually been mistaken - The Brit's McLaren pitted a lap later... is unclear that you were referring to HAmilton, and not the team (which would read as The Brits, McLaren, pitted a lap later..).
Somebody is asking for a photo of a 'David Coultard incident', above, but it doesn't seem to be mentioned in the body of the article. If it was a crash, it would also be notable enough to put in the intro.--Macca7174 09:46, 2 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I've tidied up a little, if that helps. Cheers. 4u1e 12:50, 2 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Words on Coulthard's crash added, with ref. 82.110.109.212 11:33, 3 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
OK, I have passed the article now. Although if User:Thelb4, above, had not mentioned the coulthard crash, I wouldn't have known about it, and it would have been a glaring omission, becuase it sounds like a particularly spectacular crash.--Macca7174 15:38, 3 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Well it certainly was from Wurz's point of view - I imagine an object weighing ~670kg going past your nose at head height tends to get your attention.... Apart from that it wasn't that spectacular, not much damage to either car, but it was a real 'that was close' moment. 4u1e 3 May 2007, 15:48

GA reassessment

After reading this, as well as the 2007 Malaysian Grand Prix, 2007 Canadian Grand Prix, and others, I noticed two things:

  • The referencing is scant on this article.
  • There's no background section.

As a result of this, I'm delisting the article as a GA. Wizardman 01:51, 7 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
