Plagiarism
The Criterion's website on this film includes the same language describing the characters as this wikipedia article. I'm not sure about the terms of use, but I'm pretty sure that violates some kind of rule. Cheers, 98.223.240.154 (talk) 06:29, 13 December 2008 (UTC)

Character surnames
I removed the surname "Récamier" from Angela and added it to Émile. My only official source is the IMDb: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0055572/ and I hope that's enough, but if you follow the dialogue you'll notice that Jean-Claude Brialy's character identifies himself as Émile Récamier when he calls Alfred's neighbor, while only their own neighbor ever calls Angela "Madame Récamier". As we hear that the lead couple's not married yet, it's unlikely she'd share his name. The logical inference is that the neighbor mistakenly assumes they're married and gets her surname wrong.
