I was one year senior to Abe, which means I'm doing the best I can re my memory! We had a great football team due to a good aggressive coach, who 'arranged' for Abe to be our first negro (not black in those days) student. Abe was not only a terrific player, but popular enough to be elected class president. I always followed his pro career with interest, hoping he'd join the Bears.
