About this article:

Alta Wind Energy Center is the umbrella project for what is expected to be several wind farms. The first of which is the Alta xxxx Creek Mojave wind farm. Construction has started on phase I of this farm. This will consist of 100 1.5 MW GE wind turbines. (150 MW total). Eventually (according to the web site) this farm could have up to 320 turbines and 800 MW. (Although by my calculation, it won't likely have more than 700 MW of capability, which would be the capacity if they used 2.5MW turbines for the remaining 220).

In other words, the project won't even surpass the existing Roscoe wind farm in Texas (781 MW). --71.214.218.49 (talk) 02:17, 10 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Blacklisted Links Found on the Main Page

Cyberbot II has detected that page contains external links that have either been globally or locally blacklisted. Links tend to be blacklisted because they have a history of being spammed, or are highly innappropriate for Wikipedia. This, however, doesn't necessarily mean it's spam, or not a good link. If the link is a good link, you may wish to request whitelisting by going to the request page for whitelisting. If you feel the link being caught by the blacklist is a false positive, or no longer needed on the blacklist, you may request the regex be removed or altered at the blacklist request page. If the link is blacklisted globally and you feel the above applies you may request to whitelist it using the before mentioned request page, or request its removal, or alteration, at the request page on meta. When requesting whitelisting, be sure to supply the link to be whitelisted and wrap the link in nowiki tags. The whitelisting process can take its time so once a request has been filled out, you may set the invisible parameter on the tag to true. Please be aware that the bot will replace removed tags, and will remove misplaced tags regularly.

Below is a list of links that were found on the main page:

Site area

I don't think the site area of 3200 acres is correct. The article says:

The original "Alta-Oak Creek Mojave Project" plan consisted of up to 320 wind turbines occupying a 9,000-acre (36 km2) area while producing 800 MW (1,100,000 hp) of power.

If 3200 acres is correct, they are producing twice the power for a third of the planned area. Rather, i believe 3200 acres is the area of the Tehachapi Pass wind farm. The site area of Alta should be 130 km2, as per the Tehachapi Pass wind farm article:

The 2006 contract, which more than doubles SCE’s wind energy portfolio, envisions more than 50 square miles (130 km2) of wind parks in the Tehachapi region, which is triple the size of any existing U.S. wind farm.

The corrections put wind power density (net output per m2) in the right ballpark of 2-3 W/m2.
