Considering its use by IUPAC, I understand that "aminomethyl" is −CH2−NH2. Right?
However I have seen some papers where that name is used for −NH−CH3. This usage is incorrect, right? This group should be called "methylamino", right?
And is "aminoalkyl" an established term? I could not find an authoritative reference, but there are many papers that use it, apparently to mean −(CH2)n−NH2. Would that be a proper definition, or should it include also things like −CH2−CH(CH3)−CH2−NH2?
