Not true. Even though bloated, keylogging is still a niche or activity different from, although overlapping features found in malware, adware, viruses, trojans, and worms. Keyloggers have evolved from being the tiniest, literally, of hacks -- originally being a recorder for each key-press upon any button on the keyboard, due to the architecture of systems at the time, being inserted anywhere upon the software list of allowed keyboard monitoring/listening components. Mouse movements capture, camera and microphone captures, screen snapshots, stealth features to avoid being discovered or their data capture troves being found out, data relay, first by modems, then by internet.
