Guest Appearances: Does anyone know which songs Tomas Lindberg and Anders Björler plyed on Hidden Hands of a Sadist Nation? --Zegoma beach 13:55, 10 March 2006 (UTC) - solved - Hidden Hands of a Sadist Nation page updated --Zegoma beach 16:34, 17 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

hey are sometimes mistakenly considered part of the "New Wave of Swedish Death Metal" (which includes bands such as In Flames, Dark Tranquillity, Hypocrisy and Soilwork among others), but in reality preceded it.

This doesn't hold the water. Dark Tranquillity was formed 1989 and ATG 1990. Both made bunch of releases before 1995.

The compilation album "Suicidal Final Art" is missing, it went out in 2001 (I don't have a more precise date).

Contradicting Articles.

In this:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swedecore article of Wikipedia it states that At The Gates makes/made Swedecore/Melodic Deathcore. So what is it?

no it doesn't. it says it influenced it heavily. --Spearhead 09:07, 13 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Associated acts

Some of those are frivolous. Dark Tranquility, In Flames, etc. Keep it to bands that the members have been in.

  • I don't know about Dissection, but I think they should be there since they and ATG would help create the sound. They were friends who shared basically the same idea but in different bands. NaotoATG 08:27, 20 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Even if no members from both Dark Tranquillity and In Flames wern't in there, they should still none of the less be considered an associated act due to all 3 being leaders of the sound. The Phantomnaut (talk) 23:51, 26 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
No. This is not what the field is for. An equivalent example would be including Slayer and Anthrax in the Metallica 'associated acts' field as they make up part of the Thrash Big Four. Blackmetalbaz (talk) 17:38, 25 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

WikiMusicGuide

I have removed a link to this wiki because according to

WP:EL "links to open wikis, except those with a substantial history of stability and a substantial number of editors" should be avoided. WikiMusicGuide has just 600 users, and most of them are inactive. Mushroom (Talk) 02:42, 2 December 2007 (UTC)[reply

Comment on some bullshit

"The band's legacy is far reaching, because of their innovations in the metalcore genre."

Can you spell bullshit? At The Gates has nothing to do with metalcore other than being a popular target that these hackjob bands to steal riffs from. They didn't do any "innovations in the metalcore genre" because they aren't and never were metalcore! 213.113.161.54 (talk) 20:38, 5 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Changed to "influence on", happy? 62.255.33.221 (talk) 21:36, 17 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

melodic deathmetal?

i get the deathmetal, but wheres the melodic? they have one instrumental song on slaughter of the soul, that does not make them melodic. they are just deathmetal. somebody needs the change that. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.221.153.204 (talk) 22:09, 17 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

All relevant sources call them pioneers of melodic death metal (specially slaughter of the soul and terminal spirit disease) so call At The Gates common death metal is POV. Haxxiy (talk) 19:38, 19 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

ATG' first two albums are completely <Death Metal> 100% Death Metal - but final two albums are <Melodeath>, specially <slaughter of the soul> —Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.98.182.157 (talk) 09:32, 10 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

« deathmetal.org »

I’m not that well versed in wiki standards, but I’m expressing serious concern over quoting a website that promotes white supremacy and genocide.
